Also known as Mirielle, Mimi and Minnie was born in Nikolayev in the year 1900. Small and full of spirit, she was called Das Visele (little weasel). She attended the Ecole Israelite in Paris. Tried to keep up with and sometimes ahead of the fashions. She met Albert Goldstein whose family came from Poland. They were married and left for the U.S.A. in 1922. |
Their first born Murray Bennett (Moishe Ber) was the first child in the family to be named after Maurice, the oldest of the family and lost in the first World War. He was born on June 10, 1925. Lawrence (Leib) also known as Big Larry or Lee was their second child. Albert was killed by a bus while crossing the street on the rainy night of November 29, 1966.
